2.4.26: A little tiny box
Dec. 15th, 2021 09:26 pmEvery time I get to tiling the upper deck, I expect that it's going to be repetitive, and then every time it has new fascinating elements. I love the small ways this build keeps surprising me.
Here's the mise-en-place for 26.

I spent way too long getting those 22 bent posts on the bottom small plate standing up and aligned with each other, and then I ended up with two to many to fit in one row. I know no-one but me cares, but nonetheless I'm sorry I didn't take the time to rearrange them into two rows of 11, which would have looked nicer.
Anyway, ridiculous self-criticism aside, I started by adding a few more structural pieces.

Then I built these two tiny sets of stairs.

Next I added the plates on which the deck tiles will sit, and then started adding the tiles themselves.

And finally, I added railings and a little tiny box which I guess is maybe a crow's nest? I continue to not know anything about ships.

There are still a few big things to add (like the funnel, most obviously), but we're getting pretty close to the end of Box 2! I hope you're still enjoying the read; thanks as always for reading.
Discussion prompt: Wrong answers only please: why is that tiny box not suitable as a crow's nest, and what is it instead?
